How close is Elite Auto Lab to Warren?

Warren and Madison Heights are neighboring cities, divided by Dequindre Road, which is also the Oakland–Macomb county line. Our shop is at 436 E 14 Mile Rd, Madison Heights, MI 48071, on the Oakland County side of that line.

Warren is Michigan's third-largest city and the largest community in Macomb County, with 139,387 residents at the 2020 census. Madison Heights has I-75 along its west side and I-696 along its southern border, so the highways get you here too.

What can you legally tint on a car in Warren, Michigan?

Michigan allows a strip of tinted film along the top of the windshield and the front driver and passenger windows, and it exempts nonreflective tint on the rear side windows and rear window. The statute, MCL 257.709, sets no darkness percentage.

Our Michigan window tint laws guide covers each window, the rear-visibility rule and the medical exemption. This isn't legal advice, and we go over what's allowed on your vehicle when you choose your film.

Should Warren drivers choose ceramic or carbon tint?

Ceramic is our premium film and the one we recommend for most drivers, because it reduces interior heat. Carbon is the other film we install, and it brings color stability.

Both are rated for 99% UV rejection. Standard (dyed) film is the lowest-quality option, and we don't install it. Our carbon vs ceramic tint guide goes deeper, and our window tint page covers both films.

Multiple times a week we see customers who need bubbling, purple or peeling tint from another shop fixed, and in our experience cheap tint fails after six months. That's the reason we install only carbon and ceramic film.

How long should I plan for a tint appointment?

Most vehicles take 2 to 4 hours, and a full vehicle, curved rear windows, small quarter panels or old-tint removal can add time. After that the film keeps curing for 3 to 7 days, and small water pockets may appear and disappear on their own.

We cut every pattern on a computer plotter and inspect each window for clarity and adhesion before you drive away. Don't roll the windows down for 5 days or wash the film for 30 days, and clean it with mild soap and a soft, clean cloth or synthetic sponge rather than abrasive cleaners.

What does the window tint warranty cover?

As a manufacturer-authorized installer, we install carbon and ceramic film backed by the manufacturer's lifetime limited warranty, which runs for as long as the original customer owns the vehicle. It covers peeling, cracking, adhesive failure, delamination and purple color change, and the remedy is replacing film that doesn't meet the warranty.

Ghosting isn't covered. Keep your warranty card and proof of purchase, and contact us first if you ever need to make a claim.
