14 Mile Road forms Warren's northern border with Sterling Heights, and 14 Mile Road is the road our shop is on, at 436 E 14 Mile Rd. Dequindre Road, Madison Heights' eastern border, is also the line between Oakland and Macomb counties, so our shop is on the Oakland County side of it.

I-696, the Walter P. Reuther Freeway, runs east and west through Warren. It has an exit at Dequindre Road (exit 20) and meets I-75 at exit 18 on I-696; I-75 north reaches exit 65, 14 Mile Road. M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue) meets I-696 at exit 23, on the Center Line–Warren city line. Use a map app for current ramps and the final turns.

What does auto detailing include?

Auto detailing is the thorough cleaning, restoration and protection of a vehicle's interior and exterior, which goes well beyond a car wash. At Elite Auto Lab that means a hand wash and decontamination, paint correction when the paint needs it, protection such as sealant or ceramic coating, and a full interior clean.

Our menu runs from maintenance washes and full details to multi-stage paint correction and ceramic coating, so you can start with what the vehicle needs and add protection later.

Why do Warren drivers book a detail?

Warren has 139,387 residents and a lot of daily driving: I-696 runs east and west through the city, M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue) roughly bisects it and Mound Road is an important north–south artery. Commuters pick up brake dust, tar and road film on those roads, and a clay bar and decontamination step removes what a wash cannot.

Interior wear follows the miles. Family vehicles and work trucks collect crumbs, spills and pet hair, and the winter salt that speeds up rust on cars tracks into carpets as well. Steam cleaning, carpet and upholstery extraction and pet hair removal reset the cabin.

If the vehicle is coming off a lease or going on the market, tell us when you book and we will scope the detail to match.

What is the difference between a wash and a detail?

A wash cleans the surface. A detail cleans, decontaminates and protects, addressing paint, interior, glass, wheels and trim with specialized products and techniques.

What does an interior detail include?

An interior detail covers a full vacuum, steam cleaning of all surfaces, leather cleaning and conditioning, carpet and upholstery extraction, vent cleaning, interior glass and trim restoration.

We also remove pet hair with specialized tools and can treat pet odors with ozone or enzyme cleaners, so a vehicle with a neglected interior can be brought back.

What does exterior detailing and paint correction involve?

Exterior detailing starts with a hand wash, foam cannon treatment and clay bar that remove bonded contaminants such as brake dust, tar and industrial fallout. If the paint needs it, we then polish it, which is the step that corrects paint, with multi-stage compounding to remove swirls, scratches, water spots and oxidation.

Protection comes next: a paint sealant, spray wax or ceramic coating locks in the correction. Wheels and tires are cleaned and dressed, windows are polished streak-free, and a final walk-around under show lighting catches anything left.

Light scratches and swirls come out with paint correction. Deep scratches that reach the primer or metal need a body shop, but we can assess what is possible.

How often should I detail my car?

We recommend a full detail two to four times a year for a daily driver, with maintenance washes in between, and a seasonal deep clean after Michigan winters. A vehicle with a ceramic coating needs less frequent intervention. Warren borders Madison Heights, so a maintenance detail of about 4 hours is an easy drop-off, and spring, once the salt is off the roads, is the usual time for a deep clean.

How long does a detail take?

A maintenance detail takes about 4 hours, and a full paint correction with a ceramic coating can take 3 or more days. The time depends on the service level, the vehicle's size and paint condition, how soiled the interior is, and the coating's cure time.

Can a detail prepare my car for ceramic coating, PPF or a wrap?

Yes. Decontamination and paint correction are the prep for all three, because coatings and film lock in whatever is underneath. Once the paint is ready we can apply a ceramic coating, paint protection film or a vinyl wrap.

How much does auto detailing cost in Warren?

It depends on the service level (wash, detail, correction or coating), your vehicle's size, the paint's condition and how much cleaning the interior needs. The quickest way to an exact number is a free quote with your year, make and model.
