How do I get from Ferndale to your Madison Heights shop?

Ferndale reaches I-75 at the interchange where I-696 crosses it (I-696 exit 18), the point where Ferndale, Hazel Park, Royal Oak and Madison Heights all meet. From there, take I-75 north to exit 65, 14 Mile Road; our shop is at 436 E 14 Mile Rd, Madison Heights, MI 48071.

I-696 forms part of Ferndale's northeastern boundary, east of Woodward Avenue, and following it east leads to that same interchange. Use a map app for current ramps and the final turns.

Which film should I ask for in Ferndale?

We install two films, carbon and ceramic, and we steer most people to ceramic, our premium film, because it reduces interior heat. Carbon is the other film we install, and it holds a steady color. Our carbon vs ceramic tint guide compares the two side by side.

The work is done inside our shop, which is climate-controlled (heated and cooled), insured, and gated with an alarm. Most vehicles take 2 to 4 hours, and you can tell us in your quote request which windows you want done.

What do I do after my windows are tinted?

Follow a few care steps while the film cures, and keep your paperwork so the manufacturer's lifetime limited warranty stays valid. It lasts as long as the original customer owns the vehicle and covers peeling, cracking, adhesive failure, delamination and purple color change; ghosting isn't covered.

  • Don't roll the windows down for 5 days.
  • Don't wash the film for 30 days.
  • Clean it with mild soap and a soft, clean cloth or synthetic sponge, not abrasive cleaners.
  • Small water pockets while the film cures (3 to 7 days) are normal and go away on their own.
  • Keep your warranty card and proof of purchase, and contact us first if you ever need to make a claim.

Is there a Michigan tint law I should check first?

Michigan's rules sit in one statute, MCL 257.709. It limits film on the windshield and front side windows to a strip along the top edge, exempts nonreflective tint on the rear side windows and rear window, and sets no darkness percentage.

The Michigan window tint laws guide has the window-by-window detail. This isn't legal advice, and we go over what's allowed on your vehicle when you choose your film.
